20 Week scan

We had the 20 week scan this afternoon which I'm happy to report all went well. Newbe was a bit disobedient and was facing the wrong way at first so we were sent away for an emptying of the bladder, walk and snack to encourage some movement! It worked and when we went back in Newbe gave the sonographer a good shot of it's heart so she could complete her tests. We also managed to get some good photo's. The sonographer gave nothing away about the sex though and didn't even ask us if we wanted to know, which was just as well as it would have been harder to say no when it's offered in front of you!

PJ's

We thought we'd try Nathan out in his PJ's that we'd got in New Zealand and he suits them down to a tee. The following morning though the pant and booties were off when I went in to get him but he's managed to keep them since then!

More Birthday pics

On Nathan's actual birthday we went along to the festival cavalcade in the park. Nathan didn't really appreciate some of the loud noise so he and mummy vegged on the grass while Daddy took lots of photos.

We helped Nathan open his pressies when we got home and he is very pleased with all the lovely gifts he was given so a big thank you from Nathan to everyone.

Unfortunately Nathan was more interested in trying to grab the candle rather than blowing it out so no good pics of that I'm afraid.

Birthday Boy

We had Nathan's BBQ yesterday, the weather looked a bit ominous up til about 2 when the ran cleared and we even got some sun. Chris had two gazebo's up just in case, which was good as we needed them for shade! I got a few nice pics of Nathan and his cake before people came but he soon got tired and with not sleeping properly he was a bit grumpy most of the day!

The bath was the usual drinks storage area, which weirdly was just full of soft drinks until Peter, George and Paulo turned up!......

Every one's been really generous bringing Nathan lots of nice things so I'm just waiting for him to finish his nap so we can get some nice pics of him opening his pressies.

I spoke to soon

Well that was a stressful journey home. We have just spent a joyous couple of hours in the Sick Kids Hospital getting Nathan checked over. His temperature returned today and has been generally not himself while at grandma and grandads. Along with the cold sores he had he's also developed blisters inside him mouth and a rather nasty angry looking red spot/abscess type thing on his face - just in time for all his birthday pictures nice! Anyway the Pharmacist sent Nathan to the docs who then sent him off to the hospital so Grandma and Grandad had a lovely day with him. The outcome from the hospital was that he got the cold sore virus which I think the proper name is herpes gingivostomatitis so when he's older we can tease him for having herpes when he was a baby (sorry thought I'd make the joke before some one else did!). We were given some throat numbing spray to ease the pain and sent on our merry way. the only complication could be due to his eczema. Apparently if you have eczema and this virus it can infect other parts of the body and become quite serious, so we're on the look out for any new spots! i think it's fair to say it's just as well the sick kids is getting a new building the place is a dump and really cramped. Anyway he's now safely tucked up in bed but has been murmering a bit so fingers crossed he sleeps through the night.

The wonders of Capol!

The monster is back to normal. He had a shakey start going to bed and was up a couple of times before midnight but managed to sleep through after that. He's certainly back to his normal self bouncing around everywhere and climbing up everything! He's got two cold sores though so his mouth looks a bit yucky so no close up pics!

Poorly boy

Nathan's feeling all sorry for himself and just wants cuddles from mummy and daddy all the time. We maxed up on the capol tonight as he's one hot little boy. Might be a trip to the docs tomorrow :(
